In the debut design of Una and the Lion, the seminal work of William Wyon is featured. Wyon was the Chief Engraver of the Royal Mint from 1828 until 1851 and had started at the Royal Mint as an engraver in 1816. During his tenure, the kingdom had four different monarchs. Most of his career took place during the reign of Queen Victoria, with his Una and the Lion effigy of Her Majesty one of his best-remembered works.The obverse of the 100 oz Great Britain The Great Engravers Collection Una and the Lion Silver Bars features Jody Clark’s depiction of the Una and the Lion design. Wyon’s image captured a regal Queen Victoria walking alongside a lion with the monarch’s scepter and orb. In Jody Clark’s modern reimagining of this classic design, a beautiful Queen Victoria is featured in left-profile relief clutching the scepter in her right hand and cupping the orb in her left hand.
